Pricing
Transparent pricing model
Our pricing
The basic price of our transcription is 2400 NOK, excl. VAT, per hour audio file. In other words, you pay based on the length of your recorded time, not for the time we need to transcribe it.
In addition to the basic price, the price may differ depending on if you need extra fast delivery or if there are many people involved in the file. Below you will find all factors that can affect your final price.
To quickly see your final price, use the price calculator found at bottom of this page.
Recommend us to your colleagues!
Do you like the help you received from us? Recommend us to your colleagues and we will deduct 400 NOK on both your and your colleague’s next invoice. Ask your colleague to enter your name in the info box when he or she makes the first upload.
Participants
Participants include the number of people who make up a significant part of the audio file. People who make very short contributions in one (1) minute or less are not included. Both people who interview as well as respondents are included.
Price for each extra participant after the first two: 50 kr/audio hour.
Per as per the pricing module is for up to eight participants. For price with more than eight participants, please contact us and we’ll help you our!
Transcription lead times
We offer transcripts within 1, 2, 3 or 4+, where slower delivery results in a lower price. As a customer, you can choose the delivery time that suits you best without paying more than you need.
If you need delivery faster than 24 hours, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Distinguish participants
The basic price does not distinguish participants from each other. They are instead referred to as interviewers and respondents. With this addition, we distinguish all interviewers and respondents by name, provided that their names are presented and that the sound quality makes it possible to identify their unique voice. See example below:
Basic transcription:
INTERVIEWER: What do you think about that?
RESPONDENT: I think it’s good.
RESPONDENT: So do I.
RESPONDENT: I actually don’t like it at all.
RESPONDENT: What, why not? It’s the best thing there is.
Distinguish participants:
INTERVIEWER: What do you think about that?
JAMES: I think it’s good.
LISA: So do I.
THOMAS: I actually don’t like it at all.
JAMES: What, why not? It’s the best thing there is.
Quality
In most cases, the sound files we receive are of good quality. In some cases, the quality is lacking. This may be due to the fact that the microphone has been placed too far away from the interview object, that there is background noise or that people speak over one another.
Below is an example of an audiofile which is lacking in quality.
If you as a customer have not identified that the quality is lacking and we do during the transcription process, we will contact you right away and sort out the matter.

Exact transcription
Exact transcription mean that we write out filler words, half sentences, hesitations like “eh” and the like. This makes the text a bit more difficult to read, but makes sure all the small details in an interview are included.
Discreet confirmations, like “mm” from the interviewer while the respondent is speaking, are not included unless they add something to the conversation, for example when used in response to a question, or used to mark a pause by the respondent or to initiate a question.
